Burst strength

Burst testing measures the strength of fabrics, by providing stress (force) on the material from all the directions equally at the same time, to measure the conditions that will cause it to rupture. When fabric fails due to the bursting pressure, it means that the fabric has lowest breaking extension.

How do you perform burst testing?

The TruBurst instrument applies a force to the fabric, to measure the conditions that will cause the textile to rupture

What types of products would be tested like this?

Frequently textiles, medical supplies, paper, plastics, foil and others will be tested for their 'burst strength' during development and for quality assurance.

Designed With You In Mind
